Marcel Zamora for Ironman France in Nice: the champion is back!
He’s now confirmed on the start line of the 6th edition; focus on a „sans faute“ background.
Marcel Zamora is the most „Nice citizen“ of all the Spanish triathletes. On his ground at the Baie des Anges, he is able to enlist the public’s support in each race he competes in here. His strength? He loves to run the Marathon leg of the Ironman France under a blazing sun, no need to say that in Nice every year this has been provided!
Born in 1978, Marcel has always played sport. He began taking part in triathlon at the age of 18, first as a fun game, then as a professional, where he won his first victories (Ironman France Nice in 2006).
Since then, his chart continues to grow: winner in Nice in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009; in Monaco (Ironman 70.3) in 2006 and 2007 winner at the Embrunman 2009 and the Barcelona-Maresme in 2009 (half distance) he is also therecord holder in Nice and Embrun.
His career in Nice can not fail to evoke the supremacy of a certain American triathlete back in the eighties and nineties (Mark Allen won the triathlon in Nice 10 times); there is a magic that takes place and begs the question: Who can dethrone him?
